Berkeley sedge. I always loved this lush green spreading carex when I've seen it in West Coast gardens. but I always assumed that it wouldn't survive our climate being that it's native to California. But then I saw it used magnificently at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens outpost in Gainesville.
Thick, dark green and undulating in big masses, it grows beautifully in watered sun or dry shade. Evergreen and makes a good lawn substitute.
