Airy fine-needled foliage emerges a kind of a dark reddish color in spring turning silvery blue as it matures with bright and charming chartreuse flowers blooming in early spring into summer. This low groundcover is tough as nails and the species can be found growing still in hot dry sunny areas around old houses and abandoned homesteads.
