FULL SUN / AVERAGE SOIL / 1 GALLONS COMING IN APRIL

This may be the very best border perennial I've stumbled across in years. Its on its fourth season in the perennial border at the farm and it shines like a superstar. Deep maroon infused foliage in tight clumps - rather than spreading everywhere like we are used to with this genus - about waist high produce deep magenta flowers through the early summer then give way to very ornamental round seed heads surrounded by deep maroon leaf bracts through the fall. Winter seed heads remain and are quite ornamental and don't need removing until early spring. This is a great species for us and this selection is reallllllly the best. Can you tell that I like it?
